Upgrade deleted my Sites! #2326

Quick summary
Hello there,
First let me congratulate you on the amazing product which I am using on both my macOS and Linux. However I was completely shocked right after the latest upgrade for macOS, the Sites folder was blown away empty blank, not renamed, not archived. DELETED!
Of course I did try undeleting, looked everywhere. Nothing.
Any advice or help would be appreciated.
Steps to reproduce
Start studio upon asking upgrade on the macOS and you accept.
What you expected to happen
A warning would be amazing however renaming the folder is the best way and the best course to take and the safest!!!
What actually happened
The folder got replaced with a new folder.
