I would like to use these tools in my own work, however I require many upbge python api commands,

They have added or improved (suspend Physics(), reinstancePhysicsMesh(3rd argument), XboxSDL2, etc.

If upbge simply added methods to Blender API it should work out of the box. Did you try a run with it?

It should indeed work with UPBGE. If you are on Windows refer to the upbge folder (where blenderplayer.exe is) when setting up your .xml file.
