Making schema optional

For instance I use jagi:astronomy for my validation and other additional benefits.
Is it possible to make the entire schema attachment optional?

This is great, so is the other one. I'll take a look at this, and get my local version of these synced up. I have some ideas to improve all this, though some of them are a radical departure.
