Unable to use LXD on Ubuntu image due to missing network modules

LXD needs to create a network bridge and whatever the modules that are required are not available in the 6.6.20 kernel.

Steps to reproduce:

snap install lxd
sudo lxd init --auto

This fails with Unknown device type.

Our kernel does not have Bridge enabled

Are you in a hurry to use this feature if you are in a hurry to use our open source kernel and recompile it

@DC-DeepComputing could you please enable the bridge module for the next kernel version? This would allow bootstrapping the snap ecosystem, as without it snapcraft is unable to set up LXD instances needed for builds.

Your issue has been noted, and the Bridge module will be enabled in future versions.However, this does not guarantee a solution for LXD issues, as Linux modules have many interdependencies, and LXD might require additional dependencies. We recommend compiling the kernel yourself from source to debug and enable LXD functionalities.

Let me know if you're able to compile the kernel yourself. I too would like certain kernel modules enabled, but I haven't been able to compile a custom kernel that works with the video acceleration.

did you try the upstream kernel with our patch (not accepted upstream yet), HDMI should work.

Thank you for responding! I did try that repo, yes, in December or January. I was able to boot, and I did have HDMI, but not with video acceleration. Are you saying that it should be possible to have video acceleration with that kernel? I was under the impression that it could only be done with the the 6.6.0 kernel.

@gregkatz can you please share the tech details to recompile kernel on fml13v01.
I am open to invest my time and PR bridge support to the Framework board.
At the moment I cannot find deb-src for the running kernel to continue from here.
