Question on visualization

Hi guys,

I have followed your presentation from DRD6 meeting and I can display my geometry with:
geoWebDisplay compact/simplecalo2.xml
I could also generate some samples with
ddsim --steeringFile sc2SteeringFile.py

I wonder if there is a way to display particles with my geometry?

Yes, there are several ways to do this, the best for you is likely to use the ddsim Geant4 Qt interface:

1. create a file called vis.mac with this content [1]

ddsim --compactFile pathToMyFile --runType qt --macroFile vis.mac

Salut BrieucF,

I visualize my geometry successfully with your macro. But I failed to simulate the particles with /control/execute e.mac.
e.mac is as follows:
/run/initialize
/gps/particle e-
/gps/energy 10 GeV
/run/beamOn 1

The error is:
***** COMMAND NOT FOUND </gps/particle e-> *****

***** Batch is interrupted!! *****

Same error happens when I switched to /gun/particle ....
