no background recording of tracks on focal

I have seen this Forum discussion, and I confirm that on my phone (Xperia X, Focal RC channel 2024-W03) ActivityTracker now properly records tracks even when the screen is turned off.

I suggest to change the contrary information in the App description here and in the OpenStore.

Thanks for mentioning this and sorry for the late reply. For some reason I had no notifications set up for the repository.

Has this feature landed in stable/OTA yet? I for my part (running focal devel) could NOT confirm this working when trying the last time. But I may need to give it another test.

Just tested with my OP5T and my Xperia X, both focal devel: both do NOT record positions in the background.

It would be tremendous to have background recording working. What did you do to get it working on your Xperia X?

Well, yeah, now I can't reproduce that either after a few attempts. I'm pretty sure it worked the other day, recording kept going with the screen off (on the first and only try) but, today, recording stopped when screen was off. In the forum discussion someone else mentions background recording is working, and that was the purpose of the MR, so prefer to think that I haven't completely hallucinated on this. I guess the feature is almost there, with some unknown or random circumstance making it work or fail. Sorry for the false good news. If I manage to make it work again I'll post here (but feel free to close if you want).

Thanks for checking again. Thats bad, I really was hoping it would still work. That would have made troubleshooting easier. Having background recording would be so cool! Let's keep this issue open for recording discussion about background recording. Whoever has got news, can post them here. I can also try to ask around if anyone knows something how to get this going.
