No map visible - red line on black background

Map: Thunderforest with activated key

While recording a track, everything works as expected. I see the map, my position and my track is recorded as a red line.

After stopping recording, when I want to review my track, the map is gone and I only see the red line on a completely black background.

Would be nice if review of tracks with viewable map was possible.

The app does definitely support showing a map when viewing a track. Did you have a working network connection when viewing your track? I think maps may be loaded again for that view.

Maybe also try to zoom in/out a bit. That should trigger loading the map.

Yes I always had a working network connection. I tried zooming in/out before.

I just tried again but I don't get a map. I also waited some time in case loading the map takes some time.

The red line is all on a black background...

I just got the idea the activated dark mode may be the cause.
When I deactivate it, the result is the same, but with the red line on a white background...

Which map are you using? Because it works perfectly fine here (and is implemented) I guess we need to find out why it doesn't work on your end.

If possible also please try to get some logs e.g. via Logviewer app. That might help.

As I wrote in my initial post the map I am using is

And as also mentioned, the map shows as expected, while recording tracks. It's just missing when revisiting saved tracks...
Therefore I don't think it's a problem with the map as such.

What I did here was trying to look at two saved tracks which still show the track in red on a black background:

Thanks for grabbing the log. Sadly the log looks pretty much like the one I see on my end with everything working. So no useful information that would give us some hint.

Thunderforest with activated key

ALL maps are Thunderforest maps. I would like to know which type of map you are using, like outdoor, landscape, cycle map, ... . Which one is selected in the apps settings? Did you try changing to a different map type yet?

Also in case you are using a VPN connection, maybe try to disable that for testing and see if that helps.

@jojumaxx what is the status with your errors? Did get the map displayed or is it still blank?

@jojumaxx I can actually reproduce this issue (thanks to @Fuseteam for the final hint) ONLY with the free street map . This is due to a change to the link as far as I can tell so far. I will need to find out if there is a new link.

One reason comes to my mind when the error may occur with using the API key, that is when your rate is reached and you don't have enough free requests left and may need to upgrade your plan.

@jojumaxx looks like Thunderforest dropped the free service. At least here it says "API keys are now required for all requests". So likely that is why loading of the free type map fails. Did you try with another style of map yet?
