Errors compiling omm menu library on newer versions of arduino ide

trying to compile the library fails, on newer version of the ide (works1.0.6, doesn't work 1.6.0 and 1.6.3)
This appears to be related to the avr-gcc changes. prog_char is no longer a valid variable type.

any help with fixing this issue would be appreciated
