WPF instead of EmptyKeys library usage

Hello,

Is there a reason that the generator uses WPF as the class definitions instead of the EmptyKeys classes? I only ask out of curiousity of porting this to be usable on Linux without the Windows specific libraries.

Well there was nothing else except WPF at the time when this library was created. UI is very WPF like so instead of making new editor, you can use any WPF editor including Visual Studio/Blend. So that's why.

Since then situation is different. You could specific XAML tied to .NET MAUI, but that would require rewriting UI Generator and probably some small changes in UI framework.
