[Improvement Ask]: Support for Datapacks

Whats the improvement you would like to be made?

As far as I could tell datapacks could not be integrated into a server pack. Not sure this is a NeoForge only thing but to my knowledge to make the datapack work for a server they need to be in /world/datapacks. And this is not possible as far as I could find out.

In addition because the datapacks folder normally would not be in /world//datapacks but in /datapacks therefore it would be nice to make this automatic.

Anything else you would like to add?

good suggestion. I'll add datapacks to the list of folders to include automatically, when it is available.
In the meantime, you may add it manually. :)

Ok you got that for the datapacks to work on the server the datapacks have to be in world/datapacks so they are used to create the world

That's on the modloader to handle, not on me. Creation of the world and associated directories is the modloders responsibility.

I get that but I know for the neoforge modloader it requieres the datapack to be in the world folder which does not contain anything else but with out this there is no way I know that the datapack are used for world generation.

This would mean I create a server.zip and have to modify it anyway because the datapacks folder is not moved to world.

It is just a copy operation but not to the server.zip root folder instead in root/world

The world folder is created by the Minecraft server automatically, depending on the setting of the world name in the server.properties. This is not something which can be setup beforehand, hence the need for the modloader to handle things.

You are assuming every admin sets their world name to 'world', here.

Mods are supposed to add datapacks by themselves. If you require the server pack to modify the datapacks of a given world after the fact, that would be out of my hands, I'm afraid.

Keeping with your NeoForge example:
"NeoForge automatically applies all mod data packs to a new world upon creation. It is currently not possible to disable mod data packs. However, most data files can be overridden (and thus be removed by replacing them with an empty file) by a data pack with a higher priority. Additional data packs can be enabled or disabled by placing them in a world's datapacks subfolder and then enabling or disabling them through the /datapack command."

So simply adding the datapacks wouldn't be enough anyway, as the command would still need to be executed by an operator.

What you're asking for is out of the realm of SPCs responsibility. I suggest you either bring this to the attention of the modloader devs, or see if there's a mod which does what you require.
Say, a mod which sources datapacks from root/datapacks and automatically enables them on any newly generated world, without the need for an operator to copy'n'paste and run a command.
