Build OK on Libre computer aml-s905x-cc but decnet3 module won't install

Hi

The BuildAndInstall.sh builds cleanly on this RPi similar device but the module fails to install with the "No such device" error below.
Does anything spring to mind in regards to fixing this?

Running modprobe to load decnet3 requires 2 mandatory parameters and one optional one:

dn_nodeaddr="aa.nnn" dn_ifname="if" dn_nodename="nname"

The last one is optional. If one or both of the first two are missing you will get "No such device". See
/usr/local/sbin/dnetLoadModule for what systemd uses to load DECnet.

Thanks - the problem was that for some reason the BuildAndInstall didn't set up the services or cause the driver to get installed. Once I manually copied and enabled the service definitions from another system it started to work OK.

Do you have the log file from the failed install. That might help show what cauisedx the problem. Can you provide a pointer to the Linux installation kit?

The Log is attached. It's up and running fine now (node 40.5 on HECNET)

The log didn't have anything useful although it did show a compile-time warning building "dneigh", which I will fix. When you say that BuildAndInstall didn't set up the services, were you referring to copying the systemd service files into /etc/systemd/system? That is keyed off systemctl being an executable in either /bin or /usr/bin, does your system have it in some other location?

Yes, I had to copy the files into /etc/systemd/system and then "enable" them.

The only ways I can see BuildAndInstall failing to copy the service definitions are:

1. decnet3.service already existed in /etc/systemd/system when the script was run

2. "systemctl status xxx.service", where xxx.service does not exist, exits with a status of 0. I just tried this on a vanilla Debian x86 install and it returns an exit status of 4
