No, it isn't. Just an incomplete replica started from scratch with the Quake 3 Arena gamecode. The original source code seems lost.
What is the purpose of this project?
We're actively maintaining and working on completing the TODO list and tasks. The main goal of this project is to create a replica that matches 100% with BFP, a Quake 3 Arena mod. We keep the secondary stuff disabled. This FAQ is also included in the About the repository section.
Are you creating a DBZ game?
No, nor will we do it due to legal risks. Anyone who asks and mentions that to implement in the project, we'll just say always: NO.
Can I use DBZ and trademarked assets with this source code?
We aren’t responsible for any consequences arising from actions like this, and we don’t own the DBZ and other trademarked media.
We strongly advise against doing this publicly. If you post on public sites where there is a larger audience, you increase your chances of encountering legal risks. This is because the models’ references are trademarked and some are ripped, making the risk the same, if not more serious.
Can I contribute new stuff? Like new features that aren't in the main objectives?
Keep in mind, BFP source code replica isn't completed and we won't accept any secondary stuff that doesn't appear in TODO list and tasks docs.
But we appreciate new stuff, new ideas and new features, so please, save it for future reasons. When all TODO list and tasks are completed, we'll create a new repository from this (maybe we'll fork it) and it's possible to save all them in this repository. Or save it yourself...
Can I contribute to a work-in-progress (WIP) task?
Yes, you can contribute to a WIP task. The extent to which you can intervene depends on how well your contribution aligns with the objectives outlined in the TODO list and the specific task requirements.
Can I contribute DBZ stuff and other character arts, models and assets from anime and manga series?
No, we don't accept DBZ-related content or any material that isn't covered by the GPL license. Additionally, any trademarked content will be rejected due to potential legal risks.
We only accept mannequin models linked in their bones with the animations from BFP and some character that they previously made.
Please note, you cannot contribute a character with form/mesh of those from DBZ and some trademarked ones. Make the character mesh as creative as possible or make a manequinn (some manequinn that doesn't exceed 2000~3000 polys) but as editable as possible.
Accepted formats for contributions include Maya, 3DS Max, or Blender. We highly recommend using Blender, as it allows for 100% editability and customization of the models.
For textures, please contribute in Photoshop, Paint.net or Gimp source formats.
Modeling and importing the model to the game documentations aren't available, if you know how to, please contribute some documentation explaining the process of modeling and importing the model to the game.
