We stopped supporting CentOS-7 sometime ago. I am seeing git version 2.43 on Rocky 8 and on OSX 15.5. If you can't get a newer git version via yum then you'll have to sort that out, probably by building git from source.

However, I suspect that if you are wanting to build Hyrax on CentOS-7 that this will be the first of many problems. I highly recommend migrating your build system to some form of RedHat Enterprise Linux 8 (CentOS-Stream 8, Rocky8, etc) Otherwise I am concerned your efforts will be wasted.
