directory classification with a regex? #1630

Hi, I had a very quick search through previous issues and pull requests but couldn't find an answer to my particular query.
If we have an XFS filesystem with a structure like /data1/stuff, /data2/stuff, etc, could it be possible to extend the directory io class so that we can do things like have a regex path for matching the directory io class (i.e. "*/stuff").
We tend to create and destroy the top level data1, data2, data3 directories quite often and so updating the io class config each time is a bit of pain (but no impossible). It would just be nice if we could define the directory io class once and catch all these desired subdirs automatically.
