Does having MIDI equipment in USB-HOST plug break firmware upload?

I had 22.4 installed on the Magus. I tried to install 22.5rc1 at
https://pingdynasty.github.io/OwlWebControl/firmware.html

I tried twice and failed both times , once immediately and once after some upload, with the same weird message.

It then occurred to me I had a MIDI keyboard in the Magus so I unplugged it. On the third try the firmware uploaded fine.

Three data points is not a lot, but can having a MIDI keyboard in the HOST port interfere with firmware upload?

If so, should the firmware upload page have text recommending unplugging client MIDI devices?
