Users left confused when login via steam fails

There has been a longstanding issue where the automated login-via-steam for some reason does not work. Generally, the fix is to tell the user to restart steam or toggle the "Login with Steam" option under Settings>Lobby, and I recall a 100% success rate when this has been attempted and reported back. Could there be a prompt to help users get through this problem on their own about this?

I do not fully understand the reason a login would fail, but based on the failure reason the lobby could suggest a course of action to the user, for instance, upon detecting that steam servers are unresponsive in the login process, the program could instruct players to close the game and (please) restart steam to login for multiplayer. Additionally, there could be a prompt within the login window to "sign in via steam" so players don't get confused about themselves "forgetting their passwords"
