Type hinting

Hey devs, I noticed that this project doesn't use type hinting (mainly because my IDE is giving me wiggly lines everywhere). While not a functional problem, it would be nice to have this added.

I'm happy to do the work and contribute a PR if you like, just let me know the process you'd like me to use. Thanks!
