Different problem to #1161 actually.

In your instance some of the network requests appear to never complete, which is a fairly low level problem that the addon has no control over. In #1161 the requests complete but are seemingly not processed correctly.

You need to enable the Plugin execution timeout not just verbose logging within the addon. You should probably also enable debug logging in Kodi as it may provide some information as to why the requests seem to just hang.

Yesterday's log is unfortunately not complete because it was too large (36 MB) and couldn't be uploaded. I had to delete about a third in the middle and inserted the note "A large part was skipped here because the file was too large" in that place.

Which network requests do you mean? In the original full log, I counted the "v1 API request" and "Request response". Their number is the same, exactly 20 each.

I enabled the plugin execution timeout and the logging in Kodi (in the addon it was already verbose). Then I recorded a new log. This again contains 20 requests and 20 responses. But it is very big again (32 MB). I'll try to upload it anyway. (I made the new log with beta.3 because the videos won't play in beta.4. However, the behavior regarding Related Videos is the same.)

If you still have that original full log search for T:7757 as an example. There is no response from the request made on that thread, nor does that thread ever get reused. I had assumed it had stalled, but you may have just removed the related parts of the log.

Presumably, due to the large amount of data, writing to the log file was too slow, so that the display of the results somehow did not connect. This could perhaps be secured a little better.

But thank you for your great work! I would like to donate something, also to the artists, because many do not get what they deserve. The addon enables magnificent entertainment and Related Videos is the most useful feature.

Would suggest keeping the Plugin execution timeout enabled and set to a period longer than it normally takes to open the Related Videos. If it happens again you can provide an updated log.

Pretty sure this is not the reason.

The second log you provided confirms that there is something wrong with the threads that are used to make the network requests, rather than what was happening in #1161 where the issue was with how the results of the requests were being processed.

Will need to look into what the Python threading module is doing internally but at first glance it looks like at least one of the threads in question has been "lost"...

After clearing my cache, I don't have any videos in my Related. Watching new videos does not add anything to my Related.

Your issue is almost certainly unrelated to what was reported by the OP.

Open a new issue and post a debug log.

Exactly the same here. Now updated from 7.3.0.1 to 7.4.0+beta.2 and it's ("Related") running again immediately. ("Recommendations" still don't work, however, since a few versions.)
