Improving ballot tasks: publication, tracking, automation where possible

Suggested tasks

• Automate the construction of a ballot page on the website
• Automate the updating of said ballot page as the ballot progresses through the voting process
• Automate the tracking of ballots in progress, both to facilitate review of active ballots and also to sort out ballot numbering
• Dealing with effective date issues: automating the calculation and addition of an effective date for new guidelines.
  • Some ballots already have one, which we need to deal with
  • Some WGs will have different rules for effective dates → We need a rule from each WG that wants to do this.

Tasks

• Adjust ballot page format to include standard fields for items that need updating/modification. (Suggestion: $field_name$)
• Write a script that can fill in the fields on a ballot page to inject the appropriate content
• Define stages for a ballot at which page needs adjusting
• Write a script that adjusts an existing ballot page to match the stage of the ballot
• Once automated vote-tracking is available (include issue tag here), then automate that process to trigger adjusting the ballot page.
