"Script running slow" message in IE 8

Hi

I am using this plugin with a medium size unordered list (52 items distributed in three columns/levels) inside a large HTML file (100k lines). The plugin works fine in Safari/Chrome/Firefox but IE chokes and complains about "script causing IE to run slowly". This happens when I click on a nav item. 

I am binding using `columnview_select`.

Has anyone ran into something similar?
