Symetric key

Very interesting project, thank you for sharing it!
Perhaps I didn't fully understand from the description, but is there at least symmetric encryption implemented? And if not — how can it be added? The goal is to prevent unauthorized clients from connecting to the server. I want to ensure that only my clients are sending packets to my server. Is it difficult to add some kind of unique authorization key for both sides or symmetric encryption?

Thanks for your interest. The project does not have any built-in encryption mechanism, however, if you use a UDP tunneling protocol such as WireGuard which already have great encryption support, this would not be needed.

In terms of authentication, Phantun has a quite quirky TCP stack that I don't expect any ordinary TCP scanner will be able to speak with :) Personally I have not had any issue with Phantun servers deployed on the Internet being connected by weird clients, but my tunneled protocol also has additional encryption and authentication mechanism that negates the need for Phantun to perform any additional encryption. I would recommend you consider the same (i.e. running a WireGuard on top of Phantun then your actual service). They do a much better job at these kind of stuff.
