Magit crashes if a file has $ in its name

Steps to reproduce

• Create or edit a file that has a $ in the filename. e.g. app/routes/invoices/$id.tsx
• Attempt to open magit

Environment

• vim or nvim version: 9.0 (I did experience the same with 8.2)
• git version: 2.37
• current vimagit version or (or SHA1): 308650d
• OS: MacOS 12.1
• terminal or gvim: Terminal
