Bug description
After updating glib to 2.86.0, Cinnamon fails to load the desktop properly, missing the panel, compositor, etc.
Steps to reproduce
Just boot into the desktop.
Expected behavior
The desktop should load with the panel, compositor, etc.
Additional information
New glib 2.86.0 has broken its API (again...).
This was reported in some places, including
