The initial circling check

I dont know what this option does (In the skeinforge raft settings). I would like someone to tell me if they know what it does.

I am looking for a way to be able to get the printer to print an outline of the raft on the base layer first, because after the base layer is extruded, the interface layer causes difficulties when it is laid over gaps on the outside of the raft. The interface layer will be lifted as the extruder leaves the edge, which can cause the raft to wrap around the extruder.

Any help appreciated on the effects of the option. (Could not find any documentation)
