Hello! We are now rolling out a new extension, the Python Environments extension, which we built to improve all environment related items for Python. Could you give this new extension a try and see if it fixes the issue for you? Info on how to enable it can be found here: microsoft/vscode-python-environments#581. Thanks! |

I have just installed anaconda applications as well as Vs code... However when trying to locate the base environment for running an ipynb file, the available base environment could not be detected. Although the terminal shows base environment is active. I then tried to create a new conda environment which was successful in the terminal and activated it, it still couldn't be detected.. it kept on showing series of "Detecting kernels" kind of information. This had happened before... Suddenly this had happened before and the environment finally popped up (after hours upon hours of waiting)... Yet in another session, it couldn't and it has never popped up since then. I have tried all possible means but nothing is working.
Please if there is a way you could look into this, I would appreciate.
Regards.
