Feature: add the IsFrontend option to the exchange client

First of all, I’d like to thank you for the work you’ve done. Your SDK is extremely helpful. I was wondering whether it would be possible to add the IsFrontend option to the exchange client, which would allow for near-instant WebSocket updates after an order is placed or an action is performed in general.

Hey @nova1000k.
As far as I know, the isFrontend parameter is an internal part of the Hyperliquid UI (https://app.hyperliquid.xyz) and has no effect on the Hyperliquid API (https://hyperliquid.gitbook.io/hyperliquid-docs/for-developers/api).

Indeed, this is a parameter that is specific to their needs and primarily useful for managing their UI. So, in practice, the SDK wouldn’t really need it in other contexts.

However, since I’m also working on a UI, that’s why I made the request. That said, I believe I should be able to manage by modifying the transport layer directly, if adding this functionality isn’t possible on your side.

It is possible to add it, but I do not understand what benefit this parameter provides, as I have not observed any change in API behavior based on this value.

This enables real-time updates of user data. Let me give you an example.

Imagine you change the leverage of a coin, and that coin is the currently active one. With the isFrontEnd parameter set to true, the updated active data would be immediately re-sent via WebSocket. This allows the UI to refresh the data in real time right after the action is performed.

That’s the main benefit: an immediate update following user actions, instant WebSocket updates after certain user-triggered operations.

To complete my example, without this parameter, when you update the leverage of a coin, you have to wait for the next Active Data update, which is not instantaneous. As a result, there is a slight delay.

This applies to many actions, such as changing leverage, modifying a position, or closing an order. With isFrontEnd set to true, all of these actions and related data are refreshed immediately when the action is performed. Otherwise, they are updated according to the normal update delay.
