NOTE

As of 18th Dec 2019, we (Open Data Service Co-operative) are not currently adding new, unsolicited entries to org-id while we focus our efforts on improving the service. Some open data standards have made arrangements to add fully researched org-id entries. Requests from those organisations will be dealt with under those arrangements; please make sure you mention the open data standard related to your request or proposal (e.g. 'OCDS', '360Giving', 'BODS' etc.). The legal form or organizations that the list covers All UK public sector organisations who are involved in procuring good and services. Any organisation from a supplier perspective who may want to supply goods and services to the UK public sector, this will include suppliers from across the whole world.

Any specific sectors that the list covers Of the buying community this would be UK public sector only. For suppliers there are no specific sectors.

We had a call with Rachel and Jen from Open Data Services who have advised us to submit the above to allow us get get the identifier/code we require for listing.

Hi Richard, apologies for leaving this issue for so long. Yohanna from OCP gave us a prod about this a while ago and confirmed that the website you have set up is https://www.crowncommercial.gov.uk/suppliers. We've had a look at that and the only identifiers it appears to have are DUNS numbers. Org-id already has a listing and prefix for DUNS (http://org-id.guide/list/XI-DUNS). If it's only DUNS numbers that you're using we'd recommend that you use that prefix. As it already exists we'd not be able to create an org-id prefix for the CCS to prefix DUNS numbers. I had a look back over my notes from our original call about this and it looks like at that point you had been planning on creating your own identifiers, I'm assuming that has changed and you realised the DUNS numbers would meet your needs? If you are going to be using your own identifiers in addition to the DUNS numbers let us know and we can have call to work out how to proceed.
