@raidzero I just wanted to say thanks for making this code available. I built it and ran it and now enjoy using my gamepad to drive the sphero mini.

I can't get it to run. The project structure seems outdated and i don't know how to build it. Can you help me?

I used Android Studio 3.5.1.

Unfortunately I don't really remember exactly what I had to do to make it build - I read through some introductory tutorials to understand how to setup and build projects for Android, and then dove in and tried to build it and solve problems as they came up.

From what I do remember:

• I needed to install the right Android API version (app/build.gradle says: compileSdkVersion 19)
• I also remember that there were problems related to the project being a bit old and having to replace tools and URLs (maven caused problems: google was my friend there - search for the error messages that pop up and figure out how to fix things).
• I needed to fiddle with the signing config to remove or update any signing requirements

In the end it took me a whole evening to get through it all.

One of the other main difficulties I had was getting the right (Android) OS versions and trying to simulate on my computer (which ended up a red-herring, in the end I didn't simulate and it just worked on my phone).

I have since gotten a new phone and haven't tried the app on the new phone yet. When I do, and if I need to rebuild, I'll keep notes and post them on here.

OK, thank you for your response.
I want to make a flutter app that connects to the sphero mini. So I can't use this project directly and I don't want to put to much effort into building it. In your first comment it just seemed like you were able to build it in a few minutes. I also use another package that requires minSdkVersion 21. Im now trying to understand the code and reimplement it in Flutter for myself.
