Version 3.5.0 Just Locks Up

It could run for hours, or it could run for a full day, but at least once or twice a day lately since updating i have been having to power cycle the clock or hit the reset button on the clock to get it to reload and start going again.

When the error condition strikes it will be in mid scroll, i caught it today saying "onnection weat" which i assume is a connection error to the weather info? But i power cycled the clock and it was perfectly normal again showing time and scrolling the weather every few minutes. The web page shows signal strength 88% and the AP is about 15ft away without obstructions, so there shouldn't be a signal issue.

Trying to troubleshoot why the clock stops randomly but its very random.

Now it locked up again randomly and the display shows "temperatu" so it was starting to scroll the weather and say temperature but locked up. A reset once again got it back to running normally.

And now its saying connection failed even though the AP is in the same room and the signal strength is 90%

Rolled back the firmware to 3.4.0 and it was still happening, rolled back to 3.3.0 and still happening, went back to 3.2.0 and within five minutes i got a lockup... Now i rolled back to 3.1.47 and will keep an eye on it and see if it locks up again. If it does then i have zero clue whats going on other then it appears to be related to whenever it shows or is showing the weather data for version 3.2-3.5.... Hoping that 3.1.47 still works.

Did you try running a clear eeprom?

Did you try running a clear eeprom?

Not even sure how to do to that, just using the update firmware option on the web interface for the clock. Its been running about 20 hours now with zero lockups or issues on 3.1.47 so the later versions from 3.2-3.5 have a definite flaw in them.

It is related to WiFi reception loss.

I could update the firmware and it will have the issue again, but not sure how to log the serial output, no idea how to do that sorry, you would have to walk me through that.

Right now its been running a couple days on 3.1.47 with ZERO issues. The clock is in the same room as the AP, the signal strength is always 90% when i look at it, nothing else has changed other then rolling the firmware back. So version 3.2 and later seems to have a bug in it that breaks the WiFi connection then.

I read through that #24 and my module is an ESP12F variant with the better wifi antenna. It has good reception, same room as the AP, its definitely a firmware issue not a hardware issue, versions 3.2-3.5 have a flaw in them that breaks it.
