Description
Problems with the current supply:
- hard to solder
- expensive
Requirements:
- input 6V lead acid battery to 24V industrial (drop requirement that it run from 5V)
- 5V output @ 460mA max (particle Boron max current)
- easy to solder
- reasonable cost
LMR50410 is a new part that looks interesting. It does not support 100% duty cycle, but dropout is low enough that it seems reasonable:
At 0.5 draw (would never be continuous), will regulate down to 5.4V, which is much lower than a typical lead acid discharge.
