Ingored extensions for images

I believe the extra is ignoring the extensions used for images set in  "upload_images". When uploading images I get error that extension .jpg is not allowed uploading while the default upload manager in MODX does look for this key.

Is it a bug or can the extra only be used to upload all files except images?
