Not all content migrating from Link field (Craft 4.x)

Describe the bug

Hey Josh,

We have a Craft 4.x site in prep to move to 5.x and as part of that effort we are moving from the Link plugin to Hyper. We have completed migration of all fields but we are getting failures when migrating some fields content. Specifically these fields are nested within Super Table and Matrix fields.

I dug into the migration in Hyper fileset and I can narrow it down to Hyper not being able to get the field settings.

Is there any logging I can enable to better provide output when the content migration fails?

Right now we only have the messages "Unable to convert Matrix content “button:slide” #1120 for element #161369" for example. I can provide codebase and DB access if needed.

Steps to reproduce

1. Install Hyper on site using Link 2.x.
2. Create matrix field, containing a block with a Link field. Add content.
3. Migrate fields to Hyper with migration
4. Migrate content to Hyper. See if it fails

We don't expose any more detailed logging - mostly because there's plenty of reasons things can go wrong - not all of them provide more information than what's printed as error output.

For that error specifically, it's basically failing to convert the old content to Hyper's content. It's probably a little tricky to debug that without seeing your content though.

Wondering if you might be able to dive into the Matrix content for that field and show some examples? Best to dive into the content database tables for that Matrix field. For example, I have:
