Prototype IE 8 search request rendered as html

On Internet Explorer 8, using latest ActiveScaffold for rails3 (vhochstein) branch and prototype javascripts, the search event triggered after writing something in the input box is rendered as HTML on new page instead of using ajax calls.

This happens only in ie 8?

Right now yes, I've tested on Chrome9 (OSX), Safari5 (OSX) and Firefox3.6 (Win,OSX) and it works as expected. If it helps I can try with older version of IE and other browser.

Thanks a lot. Just wanted to make sure that we do not face a cross browser issue.
Have you ever tried it with jquery?

No I haven't tried jquery. I have plans on testing it but unfortunately my application is still too based on Prototype code to have an easy migration to jquery.

Ok, my issue with this issue is that I do not have currently a test environment with ie available.., which means I cannot reproduce for the moment. :-(

Which prototype version are you using?

I'm using the latest version of prototype, v1.7 and latest version of scriptacolous,v1.8.3.

Ok, will let you know when I have something for you. Basic question is if this is a prototype bug or a record_select bug.

Unfortuently, I was nt able to fix this issue. I can reproduce, but I cannot tell you why it is nt working. It seems that for some reason Prototypes UJS (ie rails.js) is nt catching that form submit event... Will leave this bug open.
