# Can I install Swiftgram on Android?

No, Swiftgram isn’t available for Android. You can only install it on iPhone, Apple Watch, or Macs with M1, M2, or newer chips – where it runs as an iPad app.

# How do I buy a subscription while using the TestFlight beta?

Payments made through the beta version don’t actually go through — I don’t receive anything from them.
To purchase a subscription, install the App Store version over your current TestFlight build. You won’t lose any data, but please note: your accounts are your responsibility.

Your spot in the beta will be saved, so you can return to the TestFlight version anytime after a successful purchase.

# Where can I download Swiftgram?

You can install Swiftgram from the App Store or try the beta via TestFlight: [beta.swiftgram.app](https://beta.swiftgram.app/).
The app is *not* available as a downloadable `.ipa` file.
If you found one somewhere — it’s not official. That’s a third-party modification we have nothing to do with.

# I hate subscriptions. Is there a lifetime option?

No, and here's why: Swiftgram has recurring costs — Apple Developer account, infrastructure, a powerful Mac to compile builds quickly — and I spend time adapting to Telegram’s frequent updates to make sure everything works smoothly.

A one-time payment can’t fairly cover ongoing work. Even a large upfront fee would eventually stop breaking even. That’s why Swiftgram uses a subscription model — it reflects the real, ongoing effort behind it.

# Is Swiftgram really open-source?

Yes — the entire Swiftgram codebase is open-source, including the Pro features. You can check it out at [source.swiftgram.app](https://source.swiftgram.app).

We believe openness and transparency are core values. If you trust the project and like what it offers, supporting the author is one of the best ways to help it grow.

# How does Session Backup work?

Swiftgram lets you back up your sessions to the encrypted Apple Keychain — which stays intact even if you reinstall the app or restore your OS from an encrypted backup.

This means you won’t lose your accounts after reinstalling Swiftgram.

Backups never leave your device.
⚠️ Only *active* sessions are backed up. If you log out or your session is remotely revoked (including by Telegram itself), it can’t be restored.

# How can I suggest a Pro feature?

Just drop your idea in [@swiftgramchat](https://t.me/swiftgramchat) (English) or [@swiftgram_ru](https://t.me/swiftgram_ru) (Russian) — I’ll see it either way!
Suggestions are always welcome.

# Can I view deleted messages?

No, you can’t. Such features aren’t allowed by Telegram’s Terms of Service and would get Swiftgram removed from the App Store.

[Section 1.4](https://core.telegram.org/api/terms):
> It is forbidden to interfere with the basic functionality of Telegram. This includes but is not limited to: making actions on behalf of the user without the user's knowledge and consent, preventing self-destructing content from disappearing, preventing last seen and online statuses from being displayed correctly, tampering with the 'read' statuses of messages (e.g. implementing a 'ghost mode'), preventing typing statuses from being sent/displayed, etc.

# Is Swiftgram available on Apple Watch?

Yes, a Classic Watch Companion is available in Swiftgram. It offers basic support for Apple Watch, including:

• Sending text and voice messages
• Quick replies
• Location sharing
• Recent static stickers
• Reading recent chats and messages
• Listening to voice messages
• Viewing low-quality images and opening videos on iPhone

This version is based on the old Telegram companion app and does not support features like animated stickers, reactions, or forums. It may contain some bugs and won’t receive active updates — a full rewrite would be required to improve it significantly.

Still, it can be useful for Apple Watch users until Telegram offers an official alternative.
