This also reverts #16: that test turns out to create an impossible cyclic dependency in our release process. We need to merge the PR with a version-bump to get the release builds, and we need to update the version tag embedded in the NPM package wrapper JS at the same time, but testing that wrapper JS can download that tag won't work until the PR merges and builds.
