This used to be Lesson 0: But I realized it was too advanced to do before you learn anything.

Below are the steps to get set up using this site, gethub.com, and the repository we will be using to submit assignments. As always if you have any questions or feedback, do not hesitate to email me.

  1. Setup an account at gethub.com.
Go here and create a free account.
  2. Install git.
Now that you have signed up for an account you need to be able to use it.
  3. For Mac users try MacPorts instructions.
  4. For Windows users try this.
  5. Fork the learn-to-program repository.
Go to the course repository and click the button to create a fork.
  6. Clone your repository to your machine
Once you have created a fork you will be able to clone your fork to your own machine. Clicking on the “Your Clone URL” link will show you the command you need to execute on your machine.

Now once you have bought the book, let me know and we can begin.

And again, if you have any question please contact me at once. If you have a question, someone else probably will too.
