An open-source version of Sims2DB, originally created by Pegasys, now unlocked and converted for modern use.
Open Sims2DB is an open-source version of Sims2DB Sims2DB (Sims2 DataBase), a powerful FileMaker Pro application that allowed players to track their Sims 2 characters, families, businesses, etc. This project exists to rescue this amazing tool from obsolescence and give it a new life through community-driven development.
Why this project exists: The original application was locked and became incompatible with newer versions of FileMaker Pro. This version has been successfully unlocked and converted, allowing a new generation of players and developers to access, use, and improve upon Pegasys original work.
What it does:
- Tracks your Sims individually or by household.
- Helps with matchmaking by showing potential mates and tracking family trees and recessive genetic traits.
- Generates and prints various reports.
What it does NOT do:
- Imports and updates data extracted from SimPE.
- Manages data for all expansion packs, including Open for Business (featuring Servos, businesses, employees, and perks).
Disclaimer: This is an unofficial fan project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Electronic Arts (EA) or Maxis.
