- constante typo fix - clear out options when calling addOptions - clean up parsing code to identify selected items

I'm sure I did this wrong. It was my first pull request. I was trying to fork the next branch, but I think I forked on the master branch. If there's something you need me to change to make it easier for you, please let me know.
