Releases: sql-bi/AnalyzeInExcel
Fixed connection property to use CUBEVALUE / CUBEMEMBER
The connection created in the Excel file (without using an external ODC file) was not setting a property (OLEDBConnection.MaintainConnection) that is required to enable the use of CUBEVALUE and CUBEMEMBER functions.
The icon of the tool is also updated in Power BI Desktop ribbon and installer.
Improve launch without ODC file
Try to run Excel through IDispatch if COM Interop fails. The ODC file is now used only when both COM Interop and Dispatch fail.
Launch Excel directly without ODC file
Try to create a new Excel file through COM Interop. The new file has a PivotTable and a connection to the data model used by Power BI Desktop that is embedded in the Excel file and no longer relies on an external ODC file. This way, Excel no longer shows a dialog box to the end-user in order to approve opening the ODC file.
However, if the Excel execution through COM Interop fails for any reason, then the second attempt uses the technique used in versions 1.0.x, saving the connection string into an ODC file and then opening the ODC file itself.

Added MSOLAP driver check and heuristic for ODC files
Check whether the MSOLAP driver is available. If it is not available, ask for setup. It is possible that a false positive is displayed, which could be the case of a 32-bit driver without the 64-bit driver. However, in this case we should install the latest driver, which guarantees good connection with external dataset if required.
If the ODC file is not created for permissions or naming issues, these are now the attempts:
- My Documents\My Data Sources\AnalyzeInExcel.odc
- My Documents\AnalyzeInExcel.odc
- [temporaryname]AnalyzeInExcel.odc
