Python 3.9 was released on October 5th, 2020.

The official multibuild supports building wheels for Python 3.9. So ideally this should be the only change required.

Hi team, any plans on merging this? It would make a lot of our projects build much faster :)

Check out PyStan 3, it has py39 wheels. https://pystan.readthedocs.io/

Unfortunately the wheel building machinery here is broken (and has been for some time).
